Living In A Dry Climate

Living in a dry climate that lacks humidity makes it tough to maintain a hydrated complexion. In order to obtain that dewy looking complexion, you have to work a little bit harder.

Sunscreen

Want to prevent the need for dry skin remedies in the first place? Make sure you are protecting your skin from sunburn with a broad spectrum 50+ sunscreen. We know you’ve heard this lecture before so we won’t go into the nitty gritty, but trust that what you’ve heard is all true. Wearing sunscreen is the best way to keep your skin looking amazing now and for many years to come.

Skincare

Our skin is our first barrier of protection, so it’s important to get it right when you are living in a dry climate. Our suggested go to products for a dry climate would be a HA serum *stay tuned for the release date of BLOCs HA serum* which will work to deeply hydrate and gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it with a healthy glow, in combination with a nourishing moisturiser like Hydrate Your Skin, which contains elements that aid in collagen production and antioxidants to stabilise the skin - whilst locking in moisture.

Hydration

This may seem obvious but the first step to having healthy skin is drinking plenty of water and can go a long way toward helping or hindering your skin’s ability to maintain water. By drinking plenty of water and eating hydrating foods (fruits and veggies) your skin cells will have a much better shot at staying hydrated even in dry, low humidity weather.

Moisture Zappers

In addition to adopting the above habits, it’s just as important to ditch moisture zapping habits, such as alcohol, long hot showers/baths and harsh soaps that will strip your skin of it’s natural oils. Instead opt for quicker, cooler showers, hydrating drinks and creamy gentle cleansers like Your Everyday Cleanse.
